Studies of the Large Magellanic Cloud.IX. Globular Cluster Cepheids.

Population II cepheids have been located in the Large Magellanic Cloud by concentrating attention on the population II globular clusters in the Cloud. The period-luminosity relation for these cepheids is more than a magnitude more luminous than expected. This fact can be explained either by the assumption of a moderately rich metals abundance for the globular clusters or by a reduction of the distance modulus of the Cloud.
