Studies of the Large Magellanic Cloud. II. The Globular Cluster NGC 1846.
Abstract
Two-color photometry of stars in NGC 1846, a globular cluster of the Large Magellanic Cloud, provides a color-magnitude diagram. The giant branch of the cluster is similar to that of NGC 6356, a globular of our Galaxy which has an unusually high abundance of metals. The absolute magnitudes of the giant branches in these two clusters do not agree, however, probably because of a difference in age, the Large Cloud cluster being the younger.
