Photoelectric radial velocities, Paper XV The triple system HD 149240
Abstract
HD 149240, an object discussed inconclusively and in part erroneously in two previous papers in this series, is shown to be a triple system with two components (probably both late-type dwarfs) visible in the spectrum. The primary star is the singleton in the outer orbit, the period of which has already been established as 1040d its companion is now shown to be a single-lined binary system with a 51-d period, and a model for the system is proposed.
