Photoelectric radial velocities of 87 seventh-magnitude K stars previously observed by Redman.
Abstract
A photoelectric instrument has been used to give very accurate radial velocities for a sample of 87 seventh-magnitude late-type stars. The more recent of two series of measurements yields a standard error of km -1 for each observation. Redman, who observed the same stars photographically 40 years ago, correctly estimated the errors of his observations. In comparison with his work, the photoelectric instrument offers a gain in information rate of about 4000 times.
