Evaporation of Dirty Ice Particles Surrounding Early-Type Stars, I. The Orion Nebula
Abstract
The ice particle model of dust grains is justified in the Orion Nebula considering various observations. That is: 1) Interstellar absorption shows a minimum value at the center of the Nebula and a maximum at about three minutes of arc from the central exciting star. 2) Oxygen atoms in the gaseous phase are abundant in the central region but deficient in the outer region. 3) The abnormality of the reddening curve in the central region is predicted quite well by the theoretical calculation. Key words: Orion Nebula; Interstellar grains; Evaporation.
