Genome-wide identification of PLCPs in pepper and the functional characterization of CaCP34 in resistance to salt- and osmotic-induced leaf senescence
Abstract
Thirty-five papain-like genes are identified in pepper. Most CaPLCPs are involved in plant growth and development. CaPLCPs are involved in salt, osmotic, heat, cold, and oxidative stress. CaCP34 enhanced resistance of pepper to salt- and osmotic- stress induced leaf senescence .
