Bacterial elicitors of the plant immune system: An overview and the way forward
Abstract
Concepts in Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) and Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR) are reviewed. The role of bacterial elicitors and the relevance of their chemical structure are critically discussed. This work underlines the potential application of bacterial elicitors to control crop diseases.
