Filling knowledge gaps in the Ordovician radiations

Since 1972, the International Geoscience Programme (IGCP) (formerly known as International Geological Correlation Programme) has served as a knowledge hub under the auspices of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Over the past 25 years, a series of these projects have been devoted to the Ordovician. Most of the activities of these IGCPs were organized in close relation with the Subcommission on Ordovician Stratigraphy (SOS), a subcommission of the International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS), the largest of the commissions of the IUGS.
