High-speed camera based on a large-format low-noise CMOS imager
Abstract
The paper presents a high-speed astronomical camera based on a large-format (4096 × 4096 9µm pixels) front-illuminated CMOS imager with a read-out noise of 4.4e−. The maximum frame rate of the camera is 24 fps. The specific requirements that are taken into account when building a controller architecture are formulated. A brief description of the CMOS camera structure is introduced and the photoelectric characteristics obtained from the results of laboratory tests of the camera are presented. Test observations at the Zeiss-1000 telescope of the SAO RAS were successfully carried out in July 2021.
