Managing merging from a CAV lane to a human-driven vehicle lane considering the uncertainty of human driving
Abstract
A control strategy for merging of a CAV exclusive lane into a HDV lane is proposed. The impact of HDV's uncertainty in the merging control has been addressed. The concept of α-percentile trajectory to estimate the trajectories of HDVs is adopted. The proposed strategy is capable of reducing average fuel consumption and travel time.
