IRBEM-Lib status and on-going developments
Abstract
The International Radiation Belt Environment Modelling (IRBEM) library is a PRBEM distributed collection of routines for radiation belt modelling. It provides routines:
to compute magnetic coordinates at any location in the Earth's environment to perform general coordinate conversions in geographic and heliospheric coordinates systems to compute several radiation belt environment models, including AE8/AP8 and IGE to compute the MSIS86, MSISE90 and NRLMSIS00 atmospheric models to propagate orbits elements This library has been developed since 2003 and distributed under the PRBEM umbrella since 2008. Although the latest release was in 2012, developments are still being done on this library. We will review the current status of the IRBEM library, and discuss the on-going developments and the future of the library. We will also discuss the positioning of IRBEM in relation to the recent library developments in the community.- Publication:
