Trust in what? Exploring the interdependency between an automated vehicle's driving style and traffic situations
Abstract
Characteristics of everyday traffic situations have an effect on the users trust in automated vehicles (AVs). It is paramount to consider situational aspects such as perceived risks (for oneself and others), perceived task difficulties and that the AV conforms to the user's expectation. Trust is the result of an interaction between user, AV and context. Thus, a systems approach is necessary.
