The genome of the lowland anoa (Bubalus depressicornis) illuminates the origin of river and swamp buffalo
Abstract
32 maternal, parental and biparental markers (400,391 bp) were aligned for 15 taxa. Phylogenomic analyses for studying species delimitation within the genus Bubalus. The anoa, river buffalo, and swamp buffalo are three distinct species of Bubalus. They separated rapidly from each other during the Pleistocene at around 0.84 Mya.
