Light Element Quantification by TEM-EDS and Application to Organics Mapping in Ultra-Carbonaceous Antarctic Micrometeorites (UCAMMs)
Abstract
We developed a method to quantify carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen by EDX spectroscopy in the TEM. Relative precision better than 5% is obtained. Applied to one UCAMM, we found a very nitrogen-rich area attached to GEMS-like particles.
