On the Long-Term Weathering of Airless Body Surfaces by the Heavy Minor Ions of the Solar Wind: Inputs from Ion Observations and SRIM Simulations
Abstract
Long-term averaged kinetic energy spectra of thermal and suprathermal solar wind minor ions are determined. These spectra are convolved with SRIM simulations to discuss the relative importance of the 'minor' ions to surface weathering processes.
