Predictions of Localised Damage to Concrete Caused by a Low-Velocity Impact
Abstract
Proposed methodology can be used to predict denting and spalling in the concrete. The theoretical model has been validated by impact experiments and FE simulations. Correction to Hertz law is introduced for calculating the dynamic contact radius. The methodology has ultility in design of concrete exposed to abrasive environment.
