The influence of prescribed fire on site selection in snakes in the longleaf pine ecosystem
Abstract
Frequent fire benefits many snake species found within mesic longleaf pine forests. Most snake species occupied areas that had been burned within two years. Frequent fire may provide basking and refugia sites and more foraging opportunities.
