The All-weather MUse Supernova Integral-field Nearby Galaxies (AMUSING) survey
Abstract
Integral Field Spectroscopy (IFS) applied to supernova (SN) environmental studies have shown the potential of this technique to directly characterize the galactic environmental parameters at SN locations, compare them to those at different locations of the galaxy, and put constraints on progenitor stars for different SN types. Here, we will summarize current efforts from the AMUSING survey, which has used more than 600h of VLT time with MUSE to compile a sample of 571 SN host galaxies observed with IFS. The first data release of 270 fully characterized cubes including a quality control scheme is expected for the end of the current year.
