Collapsing EM wave—a simple model for nonparaxial, quasimonochromatic, single- and half- cycle beams
Abstract
The energy density in the center of a collapsing spherical vector beam is found in terms of its total energy and far field spectrum. The result has a simple form for quasimonochromatic Gauss-like pulse. This formula within a factor of 1.2 holds for extremely short pulses with one and half cycles.
