Biomass partitioning and allometric relations of the Reaumuria soongorica shrub in Alxa steppe desert in NW China
Abstract
The contribution of total root to total biomass increases with shrub age. The "canonical rules" do not apply to R. soongorica populations. Shrub allometry was affected by variation of biomass partitioning. The allometric relationships were strongly related to basal shrub diameter. Allometric equations were improved with the introduction of crown area.
