Identification of thermal stress distribution in a cylindrical component
Abstract
The paper presents a method of transient temperature and stress-state estimation in thick-walled pressure components. If complex physical phenomena inside the component make it difficult to define the boundary condition on its inner surface, an inverse boundary problem emerges. The proposed method makes it possible to solve the problem using "measured" temperature histories in easily accessible points located on the component outer surface. The method stability and accuracy are shown by comparing the inverse method results and the exact values obtained from the direct method. The presented method does not require drilling holes for sensors in pressure element walls.
