VizieR Online Data Catalog: The TESS Input Catalog and Candidate Target List (Stassun+, 2018)
Abstract
The TESS Input Catalog (TIC) is a catalog of luminous sources on the sky, for use by the TESS mission to select target stars to observe, and to provide stellar parameters essential for the evaluation of transit signals. The purpose of the Candidate Target List (CTL) is to provide a subset of TIC objects that can be used to select the target stars for TESS two-minute cadence observations in service of the TESS mission's primary science requirements, which are: 1. To search >200000 stars for planets with orbital periods less than 10 days and radii smaller than 2.5 R{Earth}. 2. To search for transiting planets with radii smaller than 2.5 R{Earth} and with orbital periods up to 120 days, among 10000 stars in the ecliptic pole regions. 3. To determine masses for at least 50 planets with radii smaller than 4 R{Earth}. The CTL is provided for use through the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes (hereafter, MAST) and for interactive use via the Filtergraph data visualization system (Burger et al. 2013A&C.....2...40B). Table 9 summarizes the contents of the enhanced CTL provided via the Filtergraph data visualization portal service at the URL http://filtergraph.vanderbilt.edu/tess_ctl.
