Chemostratigraphy of Fluvial and Lacustrine Sedimentary Rocks at Gale Crater Using Chemcam Onboard the Curiosity Rover
Abstract
Sedimentary deposition at the basis of Mt Sharp (Gale crater, Mars) displays a high chemical alteration index of 50 to 65 consistent with a substantial alteration in an open system typical of prolonged water-rock interactions at the surface.
