Uniaxial orientation of poly(3-hexylthiophene) thin films fabricated by the bar-coating method
Abstract
Uniaxially oriented thin films of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) were fabricated by the bar-coating method. The polymer molecules were uniformly aligned throughout the thin film by selecting the solvent for the coating and by controlling the substrate temperature and the sweep speed of the coating-bar. The thin films exhibited the optical and electrical anisotropies depending on the sweep direction in the film fabrication, and the alignment of polymer main chain was discussed by taking the film forming conditions and the anisotropic properties of the thin films into consideration.
