Studies regarding the state of Alosa immaculata (Bennet, 1983) migrating population into the lower Danube River
Abstract
Biometrical data of the migrating population of Pontic shad Alosa immaculata Bennet from the Romanian sector of the Lower Danube is analysed. The surveys were done by the National Institute for Research and Development in Environmental Protection-Bucharest between 2011 and 2018 during the spawning migration. In total, 286 individuals have been examined. The majority of the individuals (53.2%) were part of the age classes of two and three year old. Overall F/M ratio was 1.1. The length-weight relationship is described by the equation W = 0.0149 x TL2,8926, R2 = 0.986. Fulton's condition factor values ranged between 1.39 and 1.41 with the average value of 1.40.
