Forecasting of the elastic properties of fibrous materials
Abstract
In the work, using the generalized self-consistent field method, the effective properties of a unidirectional fibrous material are determined. Fibers in an isotropic matrix are arranged randomly and have isotropic or transversally isotropic properties. The components of the Eshelby tensor are calculated in terms of the Green's tensor for an infinite plane. Determination of effective characteristics is carried out by considering special cases of macroscopic homogeneous deformation of a fibrous system that allows us to find five independent elastic constants of a transversely isotropic medium with isotropic and transversally isotropic fibers.
