Super dielectric property observed in nanocomposite of magnetic iron oxide and tin oxide
Abstract
Nanocomposites of iron and tin oxide is prepared by a single step solution combustion synthesis method. The composite is synthesized at a temperature of 450 °C using either freshly prepared tin nitrate sol or tin powder as source of tin component in the solution mixture. The formed composite which is magnetic in nature due to the presence of iron oxide, is highly crystalline with compositional stability up to 1200 °C. Characterization by XRD supported with DRS shows the composition to be α-Fe2O3.SnO2. Morphological examination by FESEM shows the particles to be spherical and of nanosize. Further investigations show super dielectric constant in this magnetic composite material.
