The contribution of buoyancy effect on rubber-properties weighing method
Abstract
Rubber properties effect is one of the essential parts in quality assurance of LPG gas regulator standardisation. This paper presents the contribution of buoyancy effect on rubber properties of regulator LPG. Two compliance aspects of volume change and weight loss were performed to the diaphragm, valve-pad, and o-ring rubber properties. The weighing method of volume change and weight loss were conducted according to the measurement method on SNI 7369:2012. The result shows that the buoyancy factor is significant for volume change aspect. The most significant contribution of uncertainty measurement due to the buoyancy effect occurs in the measurement result of diaphragm volume change.
