The Current Status and Future Plan of Korean Space Weather Center
Abstract
The Korean Space Weather Center(KSWC) affiliated with the Ministry of Science and ICT of Korean government is the official agency for space weather forecast in Korea. We have a duty to research and forecast for space weather in order to mitigate space weather risks. KSWC officially provides space weather services for the public and is the primary action agency to deal with severe space weather conditions in cooperation with the relevant ministries. To do so, we endeavor the enhancement of accuracy for space weather forecast by planning and executing R&D projects and improvement of space weather analysis system. In this talk, we are going to introduce recent R&D projects which are to build space weather prediction models based on Artificial Intelligence(AI) technique, and to install ground observational facilities, etc. We will also briefly overview a plan for improvement of our space weather analysis system based on big data and AI technique.
