Hydro-meteorological and hydrological timescale data for well monitored watersheds in the US
Abstract
Hydrological analysis and their associated uncertainties are functions of their supporting observation datasets. Publicly available large datasets covering different climatic, temporal and spatial diversity are mostly limited to precipitation, air temperature and streamflow measurements. In this work, we organized more than 20 watersheds that have soil moisture, SWE, and other common hydro-meteorological observations across the US. Data cleaning which includes interpolation, linear regression, and climate catalog based techniques was adopted to fill the missing values for each measurement station respectively. Having the cleaned data, two hydrological timescales, the hydraulic response timescale and the info-flow timescale, were explored and incorporated into the data product.
