On natural atmospheric variability of CFC-11
Abstract
This presentations in an update of the talk given in March 2019 in Vienna on CFC-11 Symposium. Using 10-years record of global measurements of CFC-11 between 2002 and 2012 by MIPAS instrument, we provide evidences that unreported emissions of CFC-11, which are responsible for the slow down of the expected decrease of concentrations of CFC-11 assured by the application of the Montreal Protocol, most likely have started around 2007. We partly confirm the finding from MIPAS data by comparing them with the only another existing global dataset of CFC-11, 3 years of measurements by the HIRDLS instrument.
