The AGN Accretion Rate and its Variability in BCGs
Abstract
The observation that essentially every BCG in a cool core cluster has at least low level AGN activity in its core implies that the fuelling of this activity is linked directly to gas cooling. From the combination of all available multi-wavelength tracers of AGN activity in local clusters we can draw a number of far-reaching conclusions about the small scale nature of these AGN and how they relate to their longer term impact on the surrounding cluster core.
