Determinants of job satisfaction and performance of seafarers
Abstract
Key theoretical approaches are applied to explain seafarers' job satisfaction. Work stress, rewards, dispositions, and job design influence job satisfaction. Job satisfaction positively correlates with job performance. Policies to enhance seafarers' satisfaction and performance are proposed.
