Intense Morphological Changes in a dust bank situated at the Khonsu region of 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko
Abstract
Through the OSIRIS Narrow-Angle camera on-broad Rosetta/ESA, we related activity observed during perihelion and morphological changes that occurred before and after the passage. We observed strong outbursts correlated to ice-enriched patches, shallow cavity formation, and "jumping boulder". The mass released by such changes is estimated in 1.7-3.4% of all mass ejected due to one orbit activity. The apparent violence of some changes indicates very energetic sub-surface storage.
