Layer formation in Europa's subsurface ocean by double-diffusive convection
Abstract
Europa's subsurface ocean can be layered due to double-diffusive convection, a phenomenon in a fluid with different chemical components (salts). This will affect the heat and material transport from the seafloor through the ocean to the surface.
