Estudio de la evolución orbital de Fobos debido a la interacción de mareas y su relación con la propiedades físicas de Marte
Abstract
One of the most interesting observable consequences of the tidal interaction is the decrease of the semimajor axis of the orbit of Phobos (), due to the bodily tides it raises on Mars. The aim of this paper was to obtain an expression of the rate of decrease of in time (), starting from the Darwin-Kaula formalism, for the expansion of the gravitational potential of Mars, and that of the complex Love numbers in order to include the rheology of the material that composes Mars. Then, considering the most accepted current value of , it was possible to obtain values of the parameters for the Andrade rheological model --which was adopted for this work--, with which, in addition, was possible to estimate the time it would take Phobos to reach the surface of Mars. This last result was compared with those obtained by other authors.
