Multi-scale damage model for compressive strength of cement pastes
Abstract
This paper focuses on developement of multi-scale micromechanical damage model for the prediction of compressive strength of cement pastes. The main purpose is to identify and quantify phenomena causing drop of strength between the nano-scale and the micro-scale. The model upscales material strength, Young modulus and fracture energy considering the volume fractions of individual chemical phases at each scale; starting with C-S-H globules at the nano-scale, going up to cement paste at the micro-scale.
