Vision to Action: The role of co-designed research in advancing progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.

Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a powerful framework ―with broad international political buy in― around 'the future we want' and a strong set of targets for tracking progress. Yet, to be operational, at scale, additional work is needed to develop specific policy-relevant targets that can help decision makers evaluate if investments, and, new and existing institutional structures promote or inhibit global sustainability. Future Earth is working across the world to co-design research and begin to help fill these gaps. This presentation will provide an overview of this evolving work and highlight the opportunities and challenges for driving this progress in this area.
