Leveraging High Resolution Soil Electrical Conductivity Data in Agronomy
Abstract
The analysis of high resolution soil electrical conductivity (EC) data offers potential advantages beyond conventional soil physical sampling methods. Within precision agriculture, EC data provides valuable information to farmers and is utilized to guide agronomic practices. Core soil samples collected within the same spatial-temporal domain are leveraged to calibrate the EC data and provide a continuous areal estimate of subsurface soil properties. This presentation highlights the collection and processing of EC data along with background of the theory and technologies. Also included are the spatial concepts motivating spatial interpolation of high-frequency sampling and the geo-computational processing of EC data.
