Earth Science Applications & ICESat-2
Abstract
Within NASA's Earth Science Division, the Applied Sciences Program supports innovative and practical uses of Earth observations by private and public sectors to inform their planning, decisions, and actions. In addition to developing applications and building capabilities in developing countries, Applied Sciences supports efforts for applications-oriented users to engage with Earth science missions throughout the satellite mission lifecycle, increasing the advocates for and the overall benefits from the missions. The efforts allow users to anticipate applications, contribute to design decisions, be prepared to use the data when available, and provide feedback to mission teams before and after launch. This talk will address the Applied Sciences Program's activities to engage applications users in missions with a particular focus on efforts with ICESat-2.
