Preliminary GFZ GRACE-FO RL06 Level-2 Data
Abstract
The GRACE Follow-On mission successfully launched on May 22 2018 shall continue the 15-year data-record of monthly global mass changes from the first GRACE mission (2002-2017). After launch, the main science instruments of GRACE Follow-On (Microwave Instrument, Accelerometer, Star Camera Assembly and Laser Ranging Interferometer) were initialized, calibrated, and their performance was assessed by the Science Data System during the In-Orbit Check-out Phase.
The GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences as part of the GRACE/GRACE-FO Science Data System (SDS) has recently reprocessed the complete GRACE mission data (RL06 in the SDS nomenclature). These RL06 processing standards serve for the consistent continuation with GRACE-FO (Follow-on) data. Our presentation will report on the processing status and validation of the preliminary GFZ GRACE-FO RL06 gravity field products calculated during Science Phase.- Publication:
