Investigation of air composition change in various air masses
Abstract
One of the most important modern problems is a problem of the global climate change. Its cause recognized by the increasing anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases, which reflected in the change of air composition.
In this work shown a study of the changes in the small gas constituents (O3, CH4, CO2, CO, SO2,) during the passage of the frontal sections during the period 2015-2016, on the example of the TOR station, located on the eastern outskirts of Tomsk city (Russia), and in various air masses. The time for the passage of the fronts was determined from the surface maps and maps of the pressure topography. Because of the fact that the frontal sections are complex formations, accompanied by a change in cloudiness and precipitation in the prefrontal and frontal regions, and, in addition, a sharp change in temperature, strengthening and convergence of the wind, the measurements were made at one point with an interval of one hour, for each case. Hourly measurements taken 5 hours before and 5 hours after the front. During the period under investigation, 167 cold, 145 warm and 128 fronts of occlusion observed in the Tomsk region. It shown that when the warm front passes, the concentrations of CH4, CO2 and CO decrease. And vice versa, when the cold front shifted through the point of observation, the content of these gases in the air increases. For ozone, the nature of the change in concentration in the fronts is opposite to carbon-containing gases. With the passage of the occlusion front, two processes occur that individually observed in the warm and cold fronts. Thus, the displacement of the frontal sections leads to significant changes in the composition of the air. A sudden change in the composition of air in the front zone also affects the content of a gas in the air mass itself, which they share.
