Monitoring the Galaxy with the MWA
Abstract
We propose regular MWA monitoring of the Galactic Plane, including the GC. We aim to search for bursts from the enigmatic source GCRT J1745-3009 and provide high-quality radio light curves of X-ray binary outbursts. At the same time, the extremely wide field-of-view afforded by the MWA means that these specific targets will be joined by many serendipitous targets spread throughout the Galaxy. Using the transients pipeline, we will also monitor other classes of radio transient, including magnetar giant outbursts, flare stars and active binaries.
