Combined CP violation measurements by the BaBar and Belle Collaborations
Abstract
We present a measurement of the time-dependent CP violation of overline{B}^0 to D^{(*)}_{CP} h0 decays, where the light neutral hadron h0 is a π0 , η or ω meson, and the neutral D meson decays to the two-body CP eigenstates K+K- , KS0π0 or KS0ω . The measurement is performed by combining the final data sets of (471±3)× 10^6 Boverline{B} pairs collected by the BABAR experiment and (772±11)× 10^6 Boverline{B} pairs by the Belle experiment in a single physics analysis. In this first measurement performed on a data sample of more than 1ab-1, we report a first observation of CP violation in overline{B}^0 to D^{(*)}_{CP} h0 decays governed by mixing-induced CP violation according to the weak phase β . We measure the CP asymmetry parameters -ηf{S} = +0.66 ± 0.10 ({stat.}) ± 0.06 ({syst.}) and {C}= -0.02 ± 0.07 ({stat.}) ± 0.03 ({syst.}).
