Application of the Monte Carlo Method to the Solution of Heat Transfer Problem in Nanofluids
Abstract
The algorithm of modeling heat transfer in steady-state flow of a nanofluid in a plane channel on the basis of the Monte Carlo method is described. With the use of this algorithm, the profiles of temperature and of the volume fraction of nanoparticles in the channel are obtained. The dependence of the relative Nusselt number of flow on the volume fraction of nanoparticles in it and on the thermal conductivity of the fluid is shown.
