Enhanced multiferroic properties of (Nd, Cr) co-doped BiFeO3 nanoparticles
Abstract
Pure BiFeO3 (BFO) and doped Bi1-xNdxFe0.975Cr0.025O3 (x = 0.025, 0.05, and 0.075) nanoparticles were prepared by a sol-gel method. The doping effects were systematically investigated on the structural, morphological, magnetic, and ferroelectric properties. The dopant results in forming nanoparticles, and the (Nd, Cr) co-doped BFO nanoparticles show excellent ferromagnetic and ferroelectric properties. The proposed mechanism for the co-doped BFO provides an alternative strategy to form nanoparticles with enhanced multiferroic properties.
