Energetic Particle Precipitation Measurements from High Altitude Balloons
Abstract
We present measurements of energetic electron precipitation from the ABOVE^2 stratospheric balloon mission, and preliminary data from a new solid state, coded-aperture X-ray imager flown on several sounding balloons. Ground and balloon-based VLF phase and amplitude measurements are compared with the new X-ray spectrometer data, and we show that measured VLF amplitude can be used to predict X-ray count rates using an adaptive filter.
