Facilitating Ice Sheet Model Analysis with the Cryosphere Model Comparison Tool (CmCt)
Abstract
The Cryosphere model Comparison tool (CmCt) is a web-based data analysis tool that has been developed in order to facilitate ice sheet model analysis as well as aid the ice sheet modeling community with the use of remotely sensed data. Through the CmCt website ( https://ggsghpcc.sgt-inc.com/cmct/ ), users can upload a model and get comparisons with observational data, or do inter-comparisons with data from different time periods. The tool will return a series of files including the observational data, as well as statistics on the differences between the model and observations. Currently, the CmCt focuses on laser altimetry data over Greenland from the Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat). However, future versions of the tool will include comparisons with other datasets of interest to the modeling community, such as gravity, radar altimetry, ice velocity, ice thickness, or surface mass balance.
