Low-frequency noise characterization of a magnetic field monitoring system using an anisotropic magnetoresistance
Abstract
Noise measurements based on an AMR with dedicated noise reduction techniques have achieved values of 5nTHz‑1/2 at 0.1mHz. AMR is a suitable technology for low-frequency space applications like eLISA, a space-based gravitational wave detector. The results for chip-scale sensors show similar noise at 0.1mHz than the fluxgate magnetometers used in LISA Pathfinder, the eLISA technology demonstrator.
