PROBA-V In-Flight Geometric Calibration Assessments
Abstract
The PROBA-V satellite, developed by the European Space Agency and launched on the 7th of May 2013, is carrying a multispectral Earth observation instrument on a micro satellite platform. PROBA-V’s Vegetation Instrument (VI) continuously provides radiometrically and geometrically calibrated data at 1 km and 1/3 km spatial resolution to a large science user community on a daily basis. To maximise PROBA-V product’s geolocation accuracy, a continuous and highly autonomous in-flight geometrical calibration/validation software has been implemented in the mission’s User Segment (US).
